Year 13

“Students leave Waitaki as confident, well-rounded independent young women who can follow their aspirations and make the most of the opportunities in life.”

In Year 13, students at Waitaki Girls’ are usually working towards NCEA Level 3. However it is important that students select a realistic course and this may involve a combination of subjects across Levels One, Two and Three. It is also important that consideration is given to entry requirements for University and Polytechnic courses as well requirements for University Entrance.

All students in Year 13 study five subjects. In addition to their chosen subjects, Year 13 students spend an hour per week in Life Skills, a programme designed to develop skills of benefit to students eg: Tertiary Preparation, First Aid, Work Experience.
