A place where young women thrive

At Waitaki Girls’ High School, we are committed to helping every young woman achieve personal excellence in learning and life.

Our school provides a supportive and high-achieving environment where students are encouraged to grow in confidence, take opportunities, and discover their strengths.

We believe strongly in the value of single-sex education.

In a girls’ school environment, students are empowered to:

• Take risks in their learning
• Build confidence and independence
• Participate fully across all areas of school life
• Develop leadership skills

Research shows that girls in single-sex schools often achieve strong academic outcomes and develop a greater sense of self-belief.

Students are encouraged to get involved and make the most of school life.

We offer opportunities across:

• Academic learning and achievement
• Sport and physical activity
• Arts, culture and performance
• Leadership and service

These experiences help students build confidence, resilience and lifelong skills.

With a history dating back to 1887, Waitaki Girls’ High School combines proud traditions with a forward-thinking approach to education.

We continue to evolve, providing modern learning opportunities while staying true to our values of respect, responsibility and resilience.

Whether you’re considering Waitaki for yourself or your daughter, we’re here to help you take the next step.
