Personalised learning
Overview
The senior curriculum at Waitaki Girls’ High School provides students with the opportunity to personalise their learning and work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
Students in Years 11 to 13 follow programmes that support their academic goals, career aspirations and future pathways.
National Certificate of Educational Achievement
NCEA Qualifications
Students work towards the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), New Zealand’s main secondary school qualification.
Through NCEA, students:
- Gain credits across a range of subjects
- Work towards Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications
- Can pursue additional opportunities, such as a scholarship
NCEA results are recognised by employers, universities and tertiary providers across New Zealand.

Students can choose from a wide range of subjects across different learning areas, allowing them to build a programme that suits their strengths and interests.
