Message from our Principal

“Students leave Waitaki as confident, well-rounded independent young women who can follow their aspirations and make the most of the opportunities in life.”

We live in a diverse and ever changing world. Globalisation, economic and social reform as well as technological advancement have transformed the world. As educators we have a responsibility to prepare our young people for the world they will live in. We are not educating our students for our past, but their future. At Waitaki Girls’ we embrace these challenges by offering both a broad curriculum and co curricular activities to enable our young women to succeed in the world beyond school.

We are a successful learning community based on excellence and trust that is promoted in a learning environment that is safe, caring and accepting of diversity. Girls at all levels are encouraged to take up leadership roles. These opportunities help them develop greater self-confidence and prepare them as young women well equipped for life.

Our girls show pride in their school and our PB4L values which encourage learners to be respectful, responsible and resilient. We aim to foster each girl’s individual strengths. Staff work together to provide a holistic integrated approach to student development focusing on key competencies for learning and life. We are proud of our inclusive environment that allows all students to access the curriculum. Students leave Waitaki as confident, well-rounded independent young women who can follow their aspirations and make the most of the opportunities in life. We invite you to visit us and become a part of our community.
