Year 12


In Year 12, students at Waitaki Girls’ are usually working towards NCEA Level 2

All students in Year 12 will take six subjects including English. In addition to their chosen subjects, Year 12 students spend an hour per week in Life Skills, a programme designed to develop skills of benefit to students eg: Occupational Health and Safety, Drive to Survive, Food for Flatting, CVs, Life Beyond School, Community Service.

The Gateway programme is offered at Waitaki Girls’ (link to Gateway page). Students apply to be involved in this programme and study only five subjects as well as undertaking work placement.

For some students a course of both Level 1 and Level 2 subjects is the most appropriate and students will be directed towards this.
